What is Reiki?

rei·ki         /ˈrākē/         noun

A healing technique based on the principle that a practitioner can channel energy into focus by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of an individual's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

Life force energy flows through all living things.

Reiki is a gentle, holistic Japanese healing technique that has been used for centuries.  It is made up of two words, Rei (God’s wisdom or Higher Power) and Ki (life energy flows through all living things).  Holy Fire® energy is a spiritual energy which creates wholeness through purification, healing, guidance and empowerment Karuna® Reiki is translated as “compassionate action.”

Reiki is based on two principles; everything is alive and made up of energy and, we all have the ability deep within to heal ourselves.  In order to heal, our bodies and energy centers known as chakras must be in balance physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  Reiki heals and clears pathways allowing one’s life energy to flow in harmony and naturally nourishing the organs and cells of the body.  The energy of Reiki maybe shared with plants, animals, and all that is around.  Everything is alive and made of energy.

The key to remember is that when you receive Reiki you are healing yourself.  Your body knows where the energy needs to go. The Reiki practitioner channels and learns to embody the high frequency energy of Reiki through which the universal life force flows. Because Reiki works directly with your Spirit, everyone will respond differently.  Some will fall to sleep, emotions and memories may gently surface to be processed or released, while others may also feel a physical response such as a warmth or tingling within their body. The effects from receiving Reiki are always positive and filled with divine love, gratitude, joy and wonder.
